Celsusdrinks® sustainable
We can talk about sustainability as much as we like, but what's important is actually doing something about it. That is why we see sustainable business as something organic, something that grows and develops from ‘better' to ‘optimum' and even further. This also means we sometimes have to make choices. Choices which aren't always the most obvious ones. Here are the choices that we consider important.
Quality
All the products in the Celsusdrinks range are excellent sustainable choices. We make no compromise where flavour is concerned. You need to be able to count on the fact that your coffee, tea or chocolate is fresh, consistent in flavour and made from sustainable ingredients. We, of course, select the best ingredients from the certified available supply. We make sure our business practices are operating as efficiently and responsibly as possible.
Availability
Hot drinks from Celsusdrinks are made using natural products, and as such the quality can vary depending on the harvest. High quality, certified ingredients are not always readily available but we will always ensure that we select the best available harvest from certified plantations. We then create our products in such a way that you can continue to enjoy Celsusdrinks safe in the knowledge that they are of high quality and sourced sustainably.
Social aspects
Coffee, tea and chocolate are familiar products in our daily lives. We might not often stop and think about the fact that these products are grown by farmers around the world. For these farmers, agriculture is their main source of income. In order to be able to supply certified products, farmers that grow coffee, tea or chocolate must comply with strict requirements. There are rules concerning working conditions, hygiene and workers' rights. Independent organisations ensure that these rules are observed.
Environment
All certifying organisations focus on conservation and the use of fertilisers, as well as social aspects. Our Celsusdrinks range also includes a number of certified organic products. These can be identified by the EKO logo.
A product may only be called ‘organic' if it meets strict legal standards for organic farming. These products have to be grown without artificial fertilisers, pesticides or chemical additives. Monitoring organic production is a legal requirement. In the Netherlands, Skal is the only body authorised to do this. As our in house supplier is based in the Netherlands, this monitoring is carried out by Skal.
